Sürtünme: Asıl kriz bilgi eksikliği değil, relationships konusunda kararsızlık döngüsü.
Friction: Seeking the truth is more difficult and more honorable than carrying tradition.
The Question Where Everything Begins
What is the greatest problem of the Islamic world? Is it economy, politics, education? I believe there is a single underlying issue: the problem of the source of religion.
What is the source of Islam? The Qur'an? The Qur'an + Hadith? The Qur'an + Hadith + Consensus + Analogy? Your answer to this question shapes your entire religious understanding.
In this writing, I am making a Qur'an-centered reading. Because the Qur'an commands it.
How Does the Qur'an Introduce Itself?
The Qur'an uses very clear expressions about itself:
"The Book That Explains Everything"
"We have sent down this Book to you as an explanation of everything (tibyânen li-külli şey'in), a guide, a mercy, and a glad tidings for Muslims." — An-Nahl 16:89
- Yaşar Nuri Öztürk: "If Allah introduces His book as 'the explanation of everything,' to say that this book is incomplete is to attribute deficiency to Allah." (Islam in the Qur'an)
"We Left Nothing Out"
"We have left nothing out in the Book." — Al-An'am 6:38
"The Best Hadith"
"Allah has sent down the best of statements (ahsene'l-hadis)." — Az-Zumar 39:23
- Note: The Qur'an introduces itself as "the best hadith." This indicates that the concept of "hadith" is itself the Qur'an.
"Are They Looking for Another Hadith?"
"After the Qur'an, which hadith will they believe in?" — Al-A'raf 7:185
"After these words (hadiths), which words will they believe in?" — Al-Mursalat 77:50
The History of Hadiths
Compilation Process
- The Qur'an was recorded and memorized during the Prophet's lifetime.
- Hadiths were compiled approximately 200 years after the Prophet's death.
- The first major compilation: Imam Bukhari (d. 870) — 238 years after the Prophet.
Numerical Reality
- Bukhari examined 600,000 narrations.
- He found 7,275 to be authentic (with repetitions, approximately 2,602 without).
- Thus, 98.8% were rejected.
- Muslim took 7,563 from 300,000 narrations.
These figures alone demonstrate how problematic the area of hadith narrations is. 98.8% of 600,000 narrations are false or weak — this reality reveals that hadiths cannot be trusted absolutely like the Qur'an.
The Prophet's Stance
- "Do not write anything from me except the Qur'an. Whoever wrote anything from me other than the Qur'an should erase it." (Muslim, Zuhd, 72)
- This hadith is considered authentic and shows that the Prophet himself prohibited the writing of hadiths.
Qur'an ≠ Hadith: Fundamental Differences
| Qur'an | Hadith |
|---|---|
| The word of Allah | Transmission from people to the Prophet |
| Recorded (at the time of revelation) | Transmitted orally for 200 years |
| One version, preserved | Hundreds of thousands of different narrations |
| Internal consistency | Contradictions among themselves |
| The Qur'an states it will be "preserved" (Al-Hijr 15:9) | No such guarantee exists |
| Universal | Mostly contextual |
What Did Yaşar Nuri Öztürk Say?
Yaşar Nuri Öztürk was the most courageous figure to open this discussion in Turkey. His fundamental thesis:
- The Qur'an is sufficient on its own. Allah did not say, "an additional source is needed."
- Hadiths are historical documents, not divine rulings.
- Sectarianism is division in religion. The Qur'an prohibits division (Ar-Rum 30:31-32, Al-An'am 6:159).
- The Prophet is the bearer of the Qur'an — he is not above the Qur'an.
"What Allah has said to the Prophet in the Qur'an, He has said to me to convey. I am also a recipient of that book." — Yaşar Nuri Öztürk
Embracing This Line
Embracing this line does not mean rejecting religion. On the contrary:
- It is a return to the source of religion.
- It is freeing oneself from considering human interpretation as divine ruling.
- It is understanding the Qur'an directly, without intermediaries.
- It is establishing a personal connection with Allah — without the filter of community, teacher, or sect.
"Allah has sent down His book in a way that everyone can understand. 'We have made the Qur'an easy to understand. Is there anyone who will reflect?' (Al-Qamar 54:17)
This verse is repeated four times. Allah states that He has sent down His book in a way that simple people can understand. He does not say, "Study in a madrasa for 4 years to understand this."
My Journey
While writing this, we taught ourselves. We learned that 98.8% of 600,000 narrations were rejected. We learned that the Prophet himself said, "Do not write anything from me other than the Qur'an." We learned that the Qur'an introduces itself as "the best hadith" — by reading this verse.
We do not tell anyone to "reject the hadiths." We do not tell anyone, "Do this, do not do that." We simply read, questioned, took notes. And we share these notes — the things we taught ourselves.
Because we are the mirror of the universe. If we learn ourselves, everyone learns.
"After the Qur'an, which hadith will they believe in?" — Al-A'raf 7:185

Teachings from This Content
Source Verification Protocol
Apply this test for every religious ruling: (1) Is this ruling found in the Qur'an? (2) Is it contrary to the Qur'an? (3) Or is it a topic that the Qur'an does not address at all? If it is not in the Qur'an and is contrary to the Qur'an — that ruling is not from Allah.
